ALLERGY / ENT
Eosinophilic asthma is a lifelong disease that is caused by inflammation in the airway, which can be shown through symptoms of wheezing, heavy breathing, coughing. It is caused by an elevated white blood cell called eosinophils, which can often cause asthma triggers and decreased lung function.
Asthma can be triggered by a variety of environmental factors such as allergies, pollen, mold, cigarette smoke, and poor air quality. An asthma reaction develops when spasms and constriction in the airways occur while an increase of fluid is produced in the lungs. This creates difficulty for oxygen and carbon dioxide to be exchanged properly throughout the body.
Our facility offers steroid treatment, as well as other localized medications such as Fasenra, Cinqair, and Nucala.
